The United States is considering new legislation aimed at strengthening the safety and oversight of advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems. The proposed AI “Kill Switch” Bill would empower the government to require AI developers to deactivate or suspend highly advanced AI models if they are found to pose significant risks to public safety or national security.
